Clear Terms

Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "universal service fund").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.(e.g. NTIA).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., "FCC chairman" +Pai).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., FCC -Carr).

Simplest form: Use the simplest form of a term (e.g. "satellite" instead of "satellites" or "impose" instead of "imposed").

CBP Document Compares Recently Announced Section 321 Programs

CBP offered a review of the Section 321 data pilot (see 1907220025) and the Type 86 entry test (see 1908120019) in a new document posted by the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America. The data pilot is meant to "more clearly and accurately identify the entity causing the 321 shipment to move, the final recipient, and the contents of the package," CBP said. The ACE Type 86 entry test is hoped to give "greater visibility into the de minimis universe for both CBP and [partner government agencies] PGAs while ensuring regulatory requirements are met." The data pilot is limited to nine participants, while the Type 86 test is open to all customs brokers and self-filers.

CBP Adds Broker Management Office Functionality to ACE Schedule

CBP will deploy Broker Management Office functionality in ACE on Sept. 28, the agency said in its updated deployment schedule. This capability "streamlines the employee reporting process for brokers, enhances messaging to the field Broker Management Officers (BMO), and automates the generation of licenses and permits in ACE," it said. CBP also said it will provide for "streamlined processing for CBP and will include enhancements to the mass liquidation functionality as well as provide a mass update capability for post release activity." That addition is planned for Nov. 23.
