begin using ACE to require examinations of cargo (instead of having to manually notify CBP officers) on more than 300 tariff codes for high-risk products that they will monitor in CBP’s electronic filing system. If CPSC marks a shipment under review, the filer should not begin immediately uploading documents to CBP’s document image system (DIS), the CPSC officials said, according to CustomsNow. Instead, CPSC will contact the filer and request the documents. CPSC has been working for years on its ACE integration, which will eventually allow CPSC and CBP to also share data on exam information and dispositions, a CPSC official recently said (see 1909240037).
