Alaska released the revised draft of its final BEAD plan for public comment Thursday night. Comments are due 5 p.m. local time Wednesday. The state plans to spend 78.3% of its allocated funding, noting in its draft that about $215 million would be available for non-deployment funding. The draft notes that funding won't be released to subgrantees until they provide the Alaska Broadband Office with "adequate evidence" that they secured site control for any areas of land that are owned by an Alaska tribal entity and are needed to complete a project. "After site control is achieved, grant funds shall be released, at minimum, monthly to the subgrantee on a cost reimbursable basis."
