WTA Members Meet With Trusty About USF and Section 706 Reports
WTA representatives met with FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty to discuss various concerns, including the USF and the agency's notice of inquiry on the future of Telecom Act Section 706 reports (see 2509090010), said a filing posted Friday in docket 25-233. The group also met with aides to Chairman Brendan Carr and Commissioner Anna Gomez.

“Without a strong and stable universal service fund program ... none of the work [that WTA members] have been able to do in providing telephone service and now high-quality broadband would have been possible due to the remoteness and lack of population density in the communities they serve,” the group said. WTA members also “explained why the Commission should continue to assess progress towards both a near-term and a long-term benchmark” in Section 706 reports.
