"These settlements will hold Frontier and Verizon accountable to the communities they serve, bring major investments in broadband infrastructure, and represent a big step in ensuring that residents in these rural areas receive the high-quality service they deserve," Mayes said, adding that her office will compel compliance through the courts if Verizon and Frontier fail to abide by their commitments. Under the agreement, the carriers will invest $8 million to address "years of unreliable internet and phone service in Navajo and Apache counties."
