Obituary

Jonathan Miller, a journalist who helped found Communications Daily, died last week in Caux, in southern France. He was 73.

Miller began his news career working on his college paper at the University of Michigan, which he attended after living in England. Prior to joining Warren Communications News, then known as Television Digest, in 1979, Miller worked at the Dayton Daily News, the Cincinnati Post and the Detroit Free Press.

After leaving Warren Communications News, he worked as a technical adviser to Rupert Murdoch and wrote for numerous British publications, including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Spectator and the Daily Mail.

He is the author of a book about his adopted home, France, a Nation on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. A memoir, Shock of the News: Confessions of a Troublemaker, is to be published in August.

Survivors include his wife, Terry; a daughter, Alysen; a son, Daniel; and a grandson.
