CBP CSMS Messages List New Steel and Aluminum Derivatives as Subject to Section 232 Tariffs
CBP listed new Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheadings as subject to now 50% Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum derivatives, in attachments to its CSMS messages issued late June 3 offering guidance on the tariff increase.

The addition of new products subject to the new tariffs was not mentioned in President Donald Trump’s June 3 proclamation increasing the tariffs (see 2506030071). Though the annexes to the proclamation have yet to be released, the language in the proclamation didn’t indicate the annexes held lists of new products subject to tariffs.
CBP and the White House didn’t immediately comment.
The new subheadings listed by CBP subject to aluminum Section 232 tariffs are 8418.10.00, 8418.40.00, 8418.30.00, 8422.11.00, 8450.11.00, 8450.20.00, 8451.21.00, 8451.29.00 and 8516.60.40.
CBP also listed the following subheadings as subject to tariffs in its attachment on steel tariffs: 8418.10.00, 8418.40.00, 8418.30.00, 8422.11.00, 8450.11.00, 8450.20.00, 8451.21.00, 8451.29.00, 8516.60.40 and 9403.99.9020.
The attachment on aluminum also didn’t include three subheadings that have been subject to the tariffs: 8424.90.9080; 8473.30.2000; 8473.30.5100.
