"Utilizing a national based process will align communications with the modern trade operating model and ensure all parties with equities at the ports and Centers of Excellence and Expertise (Centers) have access to current information," CBP said.

The TIN will replace existing local messaging processes used by the Office of Field Operations, effective May 30, CBP said. "OFO Field Offices will be responsible for developing and administering messages through the TIN for distribution to the Trade community. The TIN will enable subscribers to customize the information they receive based on Field Office(s), Port(s) of Entry, and/or Center(s) of Excellence and Expertise (Centers)."

CBP noted that news and updates related to ACE will continue to be sent via CSMS messages.
