CBP Issues More de Minimis Guidance on Goods From China
CBP reminded brokers and importers that, starting May 2, goods from China that were previously eligible for the de minimis exemption must now use a Type 11 or Type 01 entry, in an April 18 cargo systems message (see 2504020072).

Effective 12:01 a.m. EDT on May 2, requests for de minimis entry and clearance for ineligible shipments will be rejected, CBP said. Merchandise also no longer can be entered using Type 86, the agency said. Entries must be made in ACE.
CBP will publish a Federal Register notice confirming this guidance before May 2.
CBP also noted that it will provide additional guidance via a separate CSMS message for shipments entering via international mail.
