Wireline Bureau Rejects A-CAM Recon Petitions
The FCC Wireline Bureau denied petitions for reconsideration of agency rules for the Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model (A-CAM) program. The bureau clarified in response to a petition by Blooston Rural Carriers that the submission of cybersecurity plans is “an iterative process” that provides some flexibility in meeting requirements. The bureau rejected other requested changes.

“Among other requests, Petitioners encouraged the Commission to extend the … Program’s deployment milestones by several years and change the program in ways that would reconsider its technology-neutral approach, and to alter the processes for determining the presence of unsubsidized competition,” said a Friday order in docket 10-90: Because other petitions “fail to identify any material error, omission, or reason warranting reconsideration, rely on arguments that have been fully considered and rejected by the Commission, or raise issues beyond the scope of the Enhanced A-CAM Order, we dismiss or deny the other petitions.”
