Another House Bill Would Restrict China’s Purchase of US Farmland
Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, introduced a bill March 14 that would subject foreign buyers of U.S. farmland to the same restrictions that their home countries impose on Americans.

Gill said Americans are prohibited from buying Chinese farmland, so his Land and National Defense Act would effectively ban China from buying U.S. farmland. The bill, which has four co-sponsors, was referred to the House Agriculture Committee.
The legislation is the latest of a host of congressional proposals to restrict or increase oversight of foreign land purchases in the U.S. (see 2503070042, 2503070026, 2502270073, 2502260027, 2502130014 and 2501230012).
