ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Electrolyte-Containing Beverages
The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on electrolyte-containing beverages (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1435) after receiving allegations filed by Electrolit Manufacturing and several other companies that eight Mexican companies are importing products that infringe the Electrolit patents, the agency said in a Jan. 28 news release.

In a complaint filed in December (see 2501020034), the complainants said the Mexican companies are “import[ing] unlawful, mislabeled, and potentially harmful infringing products that are materially different than" real U.S. Electrolit products. The complainants describe the product as "a solution for dehydration in children." The ITC will consider a general exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents.
