EU Appoints Advocate General and 9 Judges to General Court, Court of Justice
The Council of the European Union on Oct. 2 appointed two new judges to the EU Court of Justice and seven new judges to the General Court. In addition, Andrea Biondi, professor of EU law at King's College London, was appointed advocate-general to the Court of Justice.

Niels Fenger of Denmark and Andreas Kumin of Austria were seated on the Court of Justice. Fenger will serve until Oct. 6, 2027, while Kumin will serve until Oct. 6, 2030.
Appointed to the General Court were Juraj Schwarcz of Slovakia, Hervé Cassagnabère of France, Raphaël Meyer of France, Suzanne Kingston of Ireland, Colm Mac Eochaidh of Ireland, José Martín y Pérez de Nanclares of Spain and Miguel Sampol Pucurull of Spain. Cassagnabère will serve until August 2025 and Schwarcz will serve until August 2028. The remaining appointees will sit on the court until August 2031.
