“I’ve been critical of the Biden administration with some their sanctions and applications or lack thereof when it’s come to Iran and other places, but I want to commend them for their stand on Venezuela,” Huizenga said Feb. 7, citing the importance of pressuring Venezuela to honor its commitment to holding free and fair elections.

Huizenga, a member of the House Financial Services and Foreign Affairs committees, made his comments during a roundtable that the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere held with Machado, who participated from Venezuela by videoconference.
