A 2017 final report on a Phase I survey and usability study said more research and testing are needed, but some things are clear: "users are dissatisfied with delay (41% of respondents) and accuracy (32% of respondents) of transcription services"; "some device features can be adjusted to better accommodate the hard of hearing community"; and "speakerphone or bi-aural headset capability is helpful.
