Genachowski’s “deep industry specialization” and experience in the telecom sector will be “invaluable” to the firm, said Pete Clare, co-head of the U.S. buyout team. Genachowski follows in the footsteps of former FCC Chairman Bill Kennard, who was managing director at Carlyle before becoming U.S. ambassador to the EU.
