CBP's 2011 Trade Symposium to be on April 13-14 (Registration Opens Feb 14)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced that it will hold its 2011 annual Trade Symposium on April 13-14, 2011, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

The theme for this year's Trade Symposium is "Working Together to Strengthen Economic Competitiveness." It will focus on CBP's trade priorities and policies to ensure compliance improve security and encourage continued CBP and trade partnerships.

Registration to Open on February 14, Agenda is Posted

Registration for the event will open to the public on February 14, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. EST. Registration must be completed at www.cbp.gov, and must be confirmed with payment by credit card only. The registration fee is $450.

CBP states that consideration will be given on a first come first served basis. Due to great interest in attending, CBP requests that each company limit their registration to three participants.

Symposium Topics Include IPR, CBP Trade Strategy, ACE, Etc.

According to the agenda, this year's Symposium will include topics such as:

  • U.S. Trade a Top Priority
  • Interagency Cooperation: One Government Approach to the Border
  • CBP's New Ways to Manage Accounts: Pilots and Initiatives
  • Enhancing Air Cargo Security after Yemen: A case study in collaborative Supply Chain Security
