purchased the box but hadn’t received it, the retailer said Maxmedia will redesign the MMDTVB03 and ship it in June. “We have been informed that the reason is that Maxmedia’s chipset provider is unable to deliver a chip that meets the standards and expectations that Maxmedia requires in order to offer you the highest quality picture available.” It was told about a week ago, it said. Maxmedia didn’t respond to our queries Wednesday, but the company posted a statement on its website acknowledging the delay. “There is a big portion of the converter boxes that are sold that are being returned for a very serious reason,” it said. “The issue resides in the channel stability and number of channels received. This applies to many brands currently on the market. Maxmedia’s response to this problem was to redesign our converter box to provide a much higher standard than what is available on the market currently.”
